Student Veteran Scholarships  2017 -2018 

Michelle Karanu, Omar Williams and Anya Kiser are the first recipients of KU’s new Student Veteran Scholarships.The Student Veteran Scholarship helps exceptional Servicemembers who want to pursue their education at KU after they transition out of their respective Service, with an emphasis on junior enlisted Servicemembers. These student veterans possess strength in character, academic excellence and exception growth as demonstrated by their military career.   


Anya Kiser
Student Veteran Scholarship Recipient

Anya is a senior in the Business School and the recipient of the Andrea Mosher Veteran Scholarship. Anya was born in the Ukraine and came to the US in 2004.

Michelle Karanu
Student Veteran Scholarship Recipient

Michelle is originally from Kenya. She joined the Army National Guard in 2015. She is currently serving as a Cadet, in the Simultaneous Military Program with KU’s ROTC program.

Omar Williams
Student Veteran Scholarship Recipient

Omar is originally from Morrilton, AR, but raised a true Kansan. He is a recipient of the KU Student Veteran Scholarship.


The 2019 KU Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence annual colloquium, Cyber Attacks, Intellectual Property & University Open Research:  The Perfect Storm will be held 22-23 April at KU.  Registration is now open!

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Louis Stokes Educational Scholarship Program is open to college freshman and college sophomores in the IT disciplines.  Recipients receive full tuition and guaranteed employment upon graduation!
